Hi,
Just a correction on (3): resend-retries doesn't affect throttling errors.
In fact all of your SMS will eventually be sent from queue, but it is a very
slow process. You see, after a throttling error, bb waits for 30" for the
error to clear, before sending anything else out that SMSc. If you have
configured throughput incorrectly, or none at all, in your case you can send
~10 SMS/1'. That would take you 50' to clear your queue of 500 SMS. If you
configure throughput correctly the same batch should only take 100".

Nikos

1) Post such questions to users, not devel.
will take care...
2) When asking about bb behaviour check (and post) detailed bb logs.
i was not seeing the submits which was my question, which you answered
although some throttling errors were visible, i wasn't sure which logs to
send
3) If you are getting throttling errors, you will not see 500 submits. The
rest remain in queue.
alright
thus i think i can safely assume that the 400 MT were dropped from the BB
queue hence undelivered (after specified retries) for which i do not see any
mention (submit_sm) in the logs
thank you for the reply Nikos

Subject: BB not submitting
Hi,
The application fired 500 MTs @ 25/second to the SMSBox which
seems to be forwarding all of them pretty fine to the BB as I can see
500 ACK (0) in my SMSBox logs. But BB is not showing more than
75 submit_sm
We have checked with the SMSC and our SC has been given throughput
of 5/sec which is clearly less than the rate at which we are sending.
My question is:-
- Should we not see 500 sumbit_sm even if we only receive 10 submit_sm_resp
for them?
Thanks so much,
tushi
