request : can we all .......<snipped>
request: can you cease to put in naive arguments in threads which have a technical basis ?
i guess i can cease .. this request is quite reasonable (the other 6 points below are best dealt off-list .. too many you's and i's involved) there are some lines in the last para to which i would respond here :
what bothers me is not that you don't comprehend, but the fact that veterans of the LUG like you refuse to take time to comprehend.
understood what bothers you .. will try to take time .. guidance welcome
mere reviewing or calling for working together isn't going to paper out issues in the modus operandi of BOSSLinux and i dare say Baishakhi Linux.
to re-iterate .. there is no call from me to 'paper out issues' relating to BOSSLinux
and i'm not at all onto opining on Baishakhi Linux ..peekay (no more responses/replies on this thread on this list from my side ... this can be continued off-list .. we do have a lot of catching up to do between ourselves)
[1] if you are aware of newer distributions *not* having drivers for old hardware - have you filed bugs on the appropriate bugzilla(s) ? [2] have you had time to read producingoss.com ? if yes, is there a part in it that says that working in harmony across communities means working outside of them ? [3] i recall reading about the hindi keyboard layout that you mentioned in your OP and asking if it was 'upstream' - your response was (since i can't find that mail off hand) something along the lines of xy number of students use it [4] in my book 'masala' is the aspect from your mail which refers to (quite unnecessarily i'd say) about kushal and nirupama. now, since i do tend to encounter the said nirupama on #indlinux and have had 'interesting' chats on the public channel, i'd ask you to cease from doing that [5] if you are interested in a technical discussion of the why and how of a Linux distribution and the what of a community distribution, i am up for a discussion. if you keep on harping on apple pie terms like harmony or the like without comprehending the issue, feel free to rant. [6] BOSSLinux has support for 22 Indic languages is somewhat of a claim like talking the Nano Project meets Bharat VII standards. if you figure the irony in that statement, you will realize that trying to shoe horn stuff into a distribution with existing technical issues has the end result of the GoI having egg on its face and in a completely side note, if you still can't understand that the Open Source Definition and the Free Software Definition implies working together which means working together from the very beginning and not at the end in a take it or leave it, you will not comprehend all that i have written. what bothers me is not that you don't comprehend, but the fact that veterans of the LUG like you refuse to take time to comprehend. mere reviewing or calling for working together isn't going to paper out issues in the modus operandi of BOSSLinux and i dare say Baishakhi Linux.
