Allegedly, on or about 16 January 2018, Paul Allen Newell sent:

And you probably won't get this one either, unless someone replies and
quotes me (hint).

It's likely due to Google's anti-spam technique falling afoul of how
this list forwards our messages (written addressed "from" us but coming
from the list server). While detecting that kind of thing may pick up
spam with falsified addresses, it also erroneously picks up list mail.

As to why some get junked, and others do not, I can't tell. My replies
are addressed from a Yahoo address, are posted through the Yahoo
server, and I logon to it to send them. That logon processes
authenticates my mail, and ought to be good enough for any anti-spam
service to accept my messages as being more likely to be genuine than
spam.

Before anyone kicks off about how list mail headers ought to come
addressed "from" the list, the current form of addressing *IS* correct.
It is from me, it's going *through* the server, and replies should go
back to the list (the reply-to header is set that way). Mailing lists
have been working like this one for donkey's years, and it's generally
a better solution for getting people to reply to the list, by default,
rather than virtually all replies being private, or apparently
anonymous (because of being addressed from the list rather than from
the author). I've seen plenty of archived mailing lists, where you
google search for some problem, find a list of people asking that same
question, and there being no answers, because nobody replied to the
list.

Boilerplate: All mail to my mailbox is automatically deleted.
There is no point trying to privately email me, I only get to see
the messages posted to the mailing list.
