I've not found anything in the logs that looks related. The previous
kernel works fine. It really seems like any updates to the boot
configuration after the initial install are silently failing for some
reason.
I found that the following:

grubby --set-default=/boot/vmlinuz-6.17.1-300.fc43.x86_64

will at least set the default to the working kernel. Still no idea why
6.18.4-200 is failing, but it at least relieves some of the frustration
for now. I still welcome any troubleshooting tips. I have been running
memtest86+ without any errors, but I'll give it overnight. Seems way
too consistent and specific to be memory related in my mind, though.
Which GPU do you have?
I am seeing screen glitches with my AMD GPU on the 6.18 kernel.

Thanks!

Hi Barry,
I'm running an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D cpu, but I'm not seeing any screen glitches with KDE in Wayland. I was considering trying to go back to X11, but I can't determine what packages I need to install under DNF that will provide an option to launch KDE from X11 from SDDM (I'm assuming I'm running SDDM as I haven't checked yet and I'm running the KDE Spin of F43 with Gnome installed via the "DNF Group Install" methodology). What I'm seeing at the moment is when I boot from a cold start and log into KDE it drops back to the SDDM login screen, and then as soon as a type in my password and press enter the password prompt greys out and goes not further and mouse movements do nothing, then ctrl+alt+delete reboots the system and the subsequent start up then works fine from the 6.18 kernel. I am running F43 also in a KVM VM on the system that is giving me this issue and I'm not seeing the same issue in that, although that is only runnable after I get the system available.     I have issued a "journalctl | grep -i failed" and that produced mountains of message across a mountain of different packages, so I'm at a loss at the moment of where to start.

regards,
