I noticed it with (e.g. MuseScore as an appimage). You have a generic
app that's supposed to work everywhere, but it's the lowest common
denominator, ignoring any distro-specific features. And there's the
sandboxing to contend with, too.
Now I seem to have the same persistent problem with printing from
google-chrome-stable. The printings just go into deep space. They
disappear from the CUPS queue and nothing gets printed. The workaround is
to "print" to a PDF and then print the PDF. That works reliably so far.
