People,

I have had to do a LOT of messing around upgrading from DSL to a Fibre to the Premises connection - and there has been a great deal of trial and error getting the new setup to work - on the old setup my workstation IP was configured with a static IP via nm-connection-editor:

  192.168.20.20

but when trying to get things going for the new setup I had to let the router's DHcP provide the IP which could be anywhere between 2-254 for the last number of the quad, so after deleting the nm-connection-editor record and setting up a new "Wired Connection 1" which is setup for DHCP, why does the computer, after rebooting, still come up with its IP as 192.168.20.20 ?

Thanks,

Phil.
