True. If I needed to use an alias, I'd expand it either instead of using the alias or before if I'm going to need it several times.
On a side note, I saw a suggested set of commands earlier today that used sudo fifteen times, maybe more. IMAO, su would have been much simpler, provided that you'd assigned a root password.
