Hello,
 
Can you use putty to access the installation?  I find it to be very good out of 
the box using vt100fx for TERM_INGRES and gnome for TERM.

Neither worked, unfortunately. I'm using vt100f right now, and am also
trying vt100fx, but in both cases the function keys don't work and I still
have to use <esc><shift>OP to get the software's attention...
