Hi, We are looking at moving our development box to a much faster machine and it might be a good opportunity to consider the possibility of having a dual installation of Ingres. The reason being is that to avoid developers being affected by batch testing that requires heavy database access. The idea is to have batch testing done on the second DBMS server and the development done on the first DBMS server. Hopefully this isolation would reduce the impact on developers during batch testing.
Can anyone please provide some feedback on the viability of taking this approach and the possible drawbacks associated with it. Or is there some other approach we can consider? Our Ingres version is 2.6/0305 Our operating system is AIX 5.2 Kind Regards, Yasar Hanafi OpenROAD Developer Business Technology - Life Risk & Direct Insurances ING Australia Level 5, 68 Pitt Street SYDNEY 2000 T (02) 8238 3664, F (02) 8238 3671 E [EMAIL PROTECTED] IMPORTANT NOTICE This communication including any file attachments is intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom it is addressed.
