MSDN subscribers can download VS 2005 as of October 27th, and that’s the same day that the final build of the CLR went up for download.  November 7th is the release date for non-MSDN subscribers.

I didn't know that .Net 2 shipped -- I thought it wouldn't do so until VS2005 shipped, which isn't for a few days (or am I wrong about that?).

True enough, however the MSDN docs should start to move over to the main MSDN site relatively soon now, since 2.0 has officially shipped.  Msdn2.microsoft.com is their staging server to get pre-release stuff setup before it ships.
