Hmm, you do have an overlap there /* vis-a-vis /maintenance. And so depending on how your routing engine works/is setup, you could very well end up in Cupertino @ 1 [307] Infinite Loop!! ;^)
Had some time this evening - so I did write up a sample. A test repo is at: https://github.com/ramr/openshift-router-307 and it has instructions on how to use. And that performs just dandy in my setup. So could be something in your env/usage of it. HTH.
