Hi Devin, Indeed minishift could not technically work with Openshift 4.x and CRC (CodeReady Containers) is the project the team has been working on to provide instances running on laptops (Windows, macOs, Linux).
Good timing, we don't have a public beta yet, but trying to get it out ASAP ... like right now!
