Hi Adrian!I just tested with A1 communicator (a branded Bria) and A1oIP service (unfortunately I do not know the vendor of the presence server).
Scenario:
A1 >---PUBLISH--\
Presence Server>--NOTIFY--> B
A2 >---PUBLISH--/
A1 is available, A2 is "offline":
XML document sent to B:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
<presence xmlns="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:pidf"
xmlns:ci="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:pidf:cipid"
xmlns:dm="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:pidf:data-model"
xmlns:lt="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:location-type"
xmlns:r="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:pidf:rpid" entity="sip:[email protected]">
<tuple id="tc66deb3a">
<status>
<basic>closed</basic>
</status>
<timestamp>2010-05-20T15:29:05Z</timestamp>
</tuple>
<tuple id="t096a4143">
<status>
<basic>open</basic>
</status>
<timestamp>2010-05-20T15:22:51Z</timestamp>
</tuple>
<dm:person id="p751bb06a">
<dm:note>Offline</dm:note>
<dm:timestamp>2010-05-20T15:29:05Z</dm:timestamp>
</dm:person>
<dm:person id="p2a1d2439">
<r:activities>
<r:busy/>
</r:activities>
<dm:note>Busy</dm:note>
<dm:timestamp>2010-05-20T15:22:51Z</dm:timestamp>
</dm:person>
</presence>
Rendering of the 2 tuples by A1 communicator: see screenshot
The icon is green (available), but the word "offline" is added.
regards
Klaus

I could not figure out any differences in signaling or XCAP between latest Bria and previous Eyebeam. They seem to be the same software with a different skin. Priorities would help (you'd receive that but not trigger anything on the user interface as the highest priority will keep its state), but we don't have them yet, so in that case the decision must be made somewhere else or not at all.All we need is a good client to figure out how to use these concepts, right?Regarding clients: AFAIK Microsoft's Communicator SUBSCRIBEs its own presence and as soon as you manually set the status on one of your clients, all other clients will change its state too. And there is the A1 Communicator (a branded Bria softphone) which displays an aggregated state, e.g. if a buddy is online with 2 clients, one sending "online", one sending "offline", you will see something like "online (offline)" on the buddy list. regards klausHi Klaus, Bria - CounterPath? It's a very good piece of information and if so I could test this while at SIPIT as counterpath is bringing bria there.
