Hey Karsten/Richard,

I bundled the PCRE2-related commits from master into a single patch, for each of 3.4 and 3.6.

Apply them with "git am <patch>" and happy testing!  We can edit/extend the patches if you run into any issues.

3.4 patch here <https://gist.github.com/liviuchircu/d30aebb97d2c501349cb15eb128911f2#file-opensips-3-4-dialplan-add-support-for-pcre2-new-keep-pcre3-legacy-patch> 3.6 patch here <https://gist.github.com/liviuchircu/d30aebb97d2c501349cb15eb128911f2#file-opensips-3-6-dialplan-add-support-for-pcre2-new-keep-pcre3-legacy-patch>

Best regards,

Hi,

thanks Richard.

Yes, OpenSIPS is not supported out of the box in Debian 13. But I've
read about a patch in master branch using PCRE2 instead of PCRE3 (which
ist EOLed as far as I know).

I now want to try to integrate the patch into branch 3.6 as this is an
LTS branch. But I am not very familiar with git. Which commits are
related to the switch to PCRE2?

Have a nice weekend.

Best regards

Karsten

Hi,

I believe Opensips is not supported on Debian 13 at the moment due to
libpcre3 dependancy (removed from 13)

Hope this helps,

Richard

Hi,

I just checked 3.6 branch. It is also not possible to compile this
branch on Debian 13. Error message is about issing pcre.h.

What to do to pick the patch to fix this?

Thanks in advance,

Karsten

Hi,

I just find out, that libpcre3 is not part of Debian Trixie. I am
not
able to build OpensIS 3.4.16 on Debian 13. It seems the patch to
link
against the newer and supported Lib libpcre2 is not part of
branch
3.4.

Is it possible to cherry-pick the patch from Master to 3.4
branch? Or
should I move to 3.6? Is it possible to build this version on
Debian
13?

Thanks in advance,

Karsten
