Hi List,

As mentioned in my previous mail, here a list of older RPMs present in
RedSleeve. I only looked at rpm names. I made a diff of 'rpm -qa --qf
"%{NAME}-%{VERSION}-%{RELEASE}\n"' from a recent minimal CentOS install
and RedSleeve on a raspberry.

I found:
86 RPMs with identical version
50 RPMs with minor differences in the version
31 older RPMs

Is this addressed by 'yum update'? Any released image is eventually out of date. Install Centos 6 from DVD, then run 'yum update' and see all that is out of date.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, but this is the list after installing all updates (on both machines) I just had a look at http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/ftp.redsleeve.org/pub/el6/packages/update/RPMS/armv5tel/?C=M;O=D Apparently there are no updates after 28 feb 2014 (apart from the heartbleed fix). So, at least all advisories of PNAELV since then are not in the RedSleeve repository.

I can understand that there is a lagging, this is a volunteer effort after all. I just wanted to give a list of stuff that is lagging and that is also commonly used (in the minimal set).

Perhaps you can get the repo updated then so that us using other platforms would benefit.
