Hmm, not sure if I got you right and what you mean with "close the search
menu" - clicking on the cross on the right which says "Reset search"?
Anyway:
1) A search across all folders for a specific string in the "From" AND the
"To" header as described above does return messages with the string in
the "From" header only.
2) A search across all folders for a specific string in the "To" header does
ALSO return messages with the string in the "From" header only. So,
messages with the string in the "To" header are NEVER found (but the
search finds messages instead which should NOT be found).
3) Clicking on the cross on the right does not change the scope with regards
to the headers ("From" and "To" are still ticked), it does only change
the scope with regards to the folders ("Current folder" is now the active
one rather than "All folders").
The above does only apply when searching across all folders. When searching
in a specific folder (or the current folder plus sub-folders), the behaviour
seems to be correct.
Replicable...?
