I'm erasing everything because JohnDoe on IRC helped me figure this one
out, and as it turns out => PEBKAC (or similar).
Short version: upgrade went wrong, 'installer' directory was "chmod 0"
and script didn't do all its work.
Everything seemed to work, more or less, so nothing seemed to have gone
wrong. Thanks Luciano for your time.
P.S. 3 pane view is worth the pain.
