Do it manually - you won't regret it:
1. Download and install the new version in a new location (instructions
can be found on the website)
2. Create a new database
3. Manually copy the relevant configuration strings into the new
configuration file and save it
4. set up a secondary domain for the new webmail version
5. As soon as the new version is working as you expect it, shut down the
old version.
Multiple versions can work independently from each other, as they are
just another IMAP client towards the server.
