That's what happen when you mix different repositories like epel and
RPMforge .. several possibilities :
* remove packages that depends on wxGTK2.6 (aka vlc in your case) and
install 2.8 from epel (what you're trying to do)
* stick with 2.6
* wait for RPMforge to build 2.8 and all the packages in the rpmforge
that depends on wxGTK (that of course need a rebuild)
