That's what happen when you mix different repositories like epel and RPMforge
.. several possibilities :
* remove packages that depends on wxGTK2.6 (aka vlc in your case) and
install 2.8 from epel (what you're trying to do)
* stick with 2.6
* wait for RPMforge to build 2.8 and all the packages in the rpmforge
that depends on wxGTK (that of course need a rebuild)
That last thing is what I am doing right now in order to package
truecrypt. And while I have a wxGTK 2.8 and truecrypt, I have problems
building a newer vlc against wxGTK 2.8.
So this means it may take another week for me to finally get things work
together. The reason why it takes that long is because wxGTK builds (and
tools that use it) often are very slow to build :-/ And many iterations
are needed to make something work.
