With such huge latencies it's not practical to run utilities to warn
about broken dependencies; Dag mentioned several times on this list
(at least once as a direct reply to my query) that he's doing such
checks. Maybe such checks, when finished with bad results, could be
sent to this list (or to another list) to warn users about
inconsistencies; this would make it easier also for others to look at
the problem or for Dag to provide a timeframe for a fix or make a
statement that it won't be fixed and possibly give a workaround (like
"use apt" ;-)). Communication is the key...
