Hi,

Some other distributions (like Debian and Ubuntu) have an mplayer-nogui package. I have built such a package for CentOS, since I use VLC as main video player, and MPlayer is only installed to make the Firefox plugin work.

Just to say: a nogui package would be greatly appreciated. (I can build it myself OK, but whenever MPlayer is updated, I have to rebuild it...)

the rpmforge mplayer package contains both the non-gui and gui versions (called mplayer and gmplayer, which is the same as "mplayer -gui" acording to the manpage). Are you saying you want them split so that "mplayer -gui" becomes non-functional? Why does it bother you to have them both in the package?

cheers,
