what happens if you try a "yum clean all && yum clean metadata" first?

But finally i found the packages on the mirror: http://mirror.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/ as listed on: https://rpmrepo.org/RPMforge/Mirrors So i downloaded them: wget http://mirror.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/mirror/dag/redhat/el5/en/i386/rpmforge/RPMS/perl-Compress-Raw-Zlib-2.023-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm wget http://mirror.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/mirror/dag/redhat/el5/en/i386/rpmforge/RPMS/syslinux-3.84-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm wget http://mirror.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/mirror/dag/redhat/el5/en/i386/rpmforge/RPMS/lftp-4.0.5-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm and did a local install: yum localinstall --nogpgcheck perl-Compress-Raw-Zlib-2.023-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm yum localinstall --nogpgcheck syslinux-3.84-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm yum localinstall --nogpgcheck lftp-4.0.5-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm After that "yum update" performed without any problems.
