Hi,

I was looking for an update of the Belgian eID middleware, when I stumbled upon Fabian Arrotin's blog from 2008:
"Newer Belgian eID middleware version ! …"

According to that blog a newer version hasn't been packaged because the source is no longer available to packagers. That was perhaps true in 2008, but it seems that presently the source can be downloaded from
http://code.google.com/p/eid-mw/

There are even patches available at the same location to allow the build to work in fedora.

I would love to see this package updated. Perhaps one of the rpmforge contributors can have a look and see if it is viable to update the current beid package.

Hi Geert,

I discussed with the Debian packager (Wouter Verhelst) and another guy responsible for the code you can see hosted at code.google.com. Unfortunately, it was a nightmare to compile, even in the first version and that newer version needed higher QT lib (and other libraries, but don't remember exactly now which ones) not available on/for EL5 .. :/ I can have a new look if i find free time, or you can and submit patches/updated specs here too ;-)
