No, it's just that nowadays xine developers expect lirc packagers to provide them with a pkgconfig file (while having broken the normal CFLAGS / LIBS support in the meantime to make sure there's no way back) and our lirc package is broken beyond repair so it seems. I wouldn't venture into updating lirc, but it's trivial to hack up a dirty patch for xine, since we regenerate the build system anyways.
