Dear Scilab users,

A new version of XMLlab (1.7.6) has just been released ! For those who never heard about XMLlab, the official site

http://xmllab.org

which is up again after a fatal server crash just before Christmas, will give you some piece of information about it. Basically, XMLlab can be used in several ways. It allows to:

1-build some small "Scilab applets", where the equations, parameter and graphics, are described in XML files, which can be used from within Scilab or from a distant web browser.

2-encapsulate more heavy applications, where only the parameter and the graphics are described in XML, also run from within Scilab or from a web browser.

You can browse the examples at the following url in the xmllab.org site :

http://xmllab.org/~xmllab/cgi-bin/XMLlabServer.cgi?list=examples.xml&lang=english
http://xmllab.org/~xmllab/cgi-bin/XMLlabServer.cgi?list=examples.xml&lang=french
http://xmllab.org/~xmllab/cgi-bin/XMLlabServer.cgi?list=examples.xml&lang=spanish
http://xmllab.org/~xmllab/cgi-bin/XMLlabServer.cgi?list=examples.xml&lang=german

This new version works with Scilab 5.4.1 on Windows and Linux and is easy to install. Don't hesitate to mail me if you are interested in XMLlab and need some help.

Best regards,

S.
