(Disclaimer: I'm not a Java programmer and I don't play one on television.)
Hi, I'm trying to build Scilab from source code on a Guix Gnu/Linux system. This is maybe a little unique because Guix does not install things in standard locations. However, by putting various Guix packages in the environment (via Guix shell) I've been able to make it through a lot of the configure stage checks so far. Unfortunately, though, Guix does not have a package available for the jakarta.activation library and I get this error: ``` checking jakarta.activation... no configure: error: Could not find or use the Java package/jar jakarta.activation used by Scilab Help - MimeTypes for image conversion (looking for package com.sun.activation.registries.MimeTypeFile) ``` Trying to work around this, I downloaded the jaf-api repository from https://github.com/jakartaee/jaf-api, 2.1.3-RELEASE. But I don't know what steps I need to take after that. Could somebody guide me? I think I need to build jaf-api to get the required package/jar file(s). In the past, I recall building Java software using "ant build", but ant complains that there is no "build.xml" file, and indeed I cannot find one anywhere in the repo. I tried to just set the CLASSPATH variable to various directories in the jaf-api repository, where the source code is, but I get the same error when I run ./configure. -- 馃摏 Christopher Howard 馃殌 gemini://gem.librehacker.com 馃寪 http://gem.librehacker.com 讘专讗砖讬转 讘专讗 讗诇讛讬诐 讗转 讛砖诪讬诐 讜讗转 讛讗专抓 _______________________________________________ users mailing list - users@lists.scilab.org Click here to unsubscribe: <mailto:users-unsubscr...@lists.scilab.org> https://lists.scilab.org/mailman/listinfo/users This email and any attachments are intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom it is addressed and may be confidential and/or privileged.
