In beta9, you can extend the reactor
(org.apache.maven.jelly.tags.maven.ReatorTag) with some hooks.
In your extended reactor class, you can overwrite this method :
public void beforeProject(Project project)
public void beforeLaunchGoals(Project project)
public void afterLaunchGoals(Project project)
public void afterProject(Project project)
public void onException(Project project, Exception e)
public void onDependencyResolutionException(Exception e)
and you can add your own parameter accessor.
Then, you must define a new tag for use your custom reactor in a new
plugin or in your maven.xml.
If I have some time in next days, I'll write an example of this
functionality.

No, you have to turn postProcessing="true" on and then all projects are
added.
Something will be added to the maven Project itself to indicate success
or failure. It will be part of spiffed up contract we're going work on
after beta-9 is out. Nothing needs to be added to the reactor, the
problem is that the Maven doesn't reveal its inner workings in a clear
way.
I think Emmanuel added some post processing hooks where you can glean
some information. Maybe he can expand.
