The use of subversion with the changelog plugin used to work. I added this a long time ago after Glenn added the abstract factory for the ChanageLogParser and ChangeLogGenerator. The only limitation was that the subversion webdav client did not support the use of dates when requesting log information (it was planned but not implemented when I wrote the SvnChangeLogParser). As a result, you always got the entire change log and could not limit it to the past 30 days (the default for maven). I haven't used Subversion for a bit (waiting for 1.0), so I'm not sure if they've added this functionality yet. If they have fixed this, let me know and I'll take a peek and see if I can quickly get it working again for you.
