Also make sure that your jdk level is 1.4.2 or higher Keld Mikkelsen My problem was that the jdk 1.3 did not dupport the proxy configuration settings I made for maven, and it did not tell what was wrong. The jdk 1.4..2 supports the proxy settings, and maven is doing a better job of telling what goes wrong under this jdk.
