All IMHO:

1) Forrest came after Maven
2) Maven docs came out of Anakia, Forrest out of Cocoon
3) Forrest is heavy in terms of size.
4) Forrest is slow.

5) The forrest look and feel is being used in Anakia docs quite well by 
Ant. Making consistent look and feel doesn't require standardising on 
Forrest.
6) It's open source. If someone wants it, they can do it.
7) What we have works ok
