Guess it is because "mar., 30 sept. 2003 13:00:17" isnt a valid date. Seems like it is a extra ',' in it. Seems like a jetty issue anyway. Which browser are you using? or maven fetcher? If so it might have something to with some fields the fetcher are setting. I've check the jetty code and it seems like the field it is trying to read is the If-modified-since header field.
