For me it's a major issue, for now I have a build.properties in CVS and I ask everyone to copy it to their user home directory. Thanks for all the suggestions, I will try the hacks and see if I can get it working for us on our project. I am crossing my fingers that this will be resolved for release 1.0! Maven took a beating on the server side a few weeks ago with the new release of ANT which supports inheritence. I think the Maven community must do all we can to preach the Maven gospel.
