I am not sure if will support external XML entities in future version of maven as most likly we will have solution which will eliminate the need of having them. I am not sure if it is so obvious what betwixt/digister/sax parser are doing with external entities specially inside unit tests. Can you re-post your POM? It seems that atachments are not allowed in posts to this list. Have you tried to run your tests against any POM which is not using entities?
