It is not true that it can be done only in one project. 
Simply two projects can share the same sources. Project in maven world is
not something very heavy
it's just a directory with  xml file and probably properties files.

This works fine at the moment but such pattern might be in future a problem
for ci systems 
(no direct dependecy on A is declared, the path is hardcoded).
This is probably something we must think of in m2 and add it to list of use
cases 
which we are considering.
