i found the fail
the pattern org.commons.lang.util is being replaced by
org.commons.language.util.xwork
which doesnt happen
<pattern>org.commons.language.util</pattern>
<shadedPattern>org.commons.language.util.xwork</shadedPattern>
the failure causes this fatal compile failure later on
[98,45] package org.apache.commons.lang.xwork does not exist
