I think he is using Intercrap Explorer's automatically detect proxy settings magic wand, so he does not know what his proxy is.

tip, google how IE determines the proxy automatically, essentially it gets the URL of a .PAC file. download that file it's a JavaScript function that returns the proxy given an URL
