We haven't done this in a while. At the time, we simply used
m-eclipse-p to build eclipse projects for each module, and only
imported the relevant modules for whatever issue/container we were
working on at the time. It was pretty uncommon for a dev to actually
build the whole project from the top on their own machine.

So we got "fast for devs" plus "single CI checkout from svn" at the
same time with this approach.
