My point is that you are probably making a poor assumption about the functionality provided by this plugin. The primary concern of Maven (and the m-eclipse-p plugin) is building your code, not making it look pretty in Eclipse. It appears the additionalConfig parameter to the plugin may be able to support what you are looking for. This is documented on the link you sent.
