Hi all!
I am indeed missing the verify goal. I added it so my configuration became:

<groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
<artifactId>maven-failsafe-plugin</artifactId>
<version>2.6</version>
<executions>
<execution>
<id>integration-test</id>
<goals>
<goal>verify</goal>
</goals>
<configuration>
<excludes>
<exclude>none</exclude>
</excludes>
<includes>
<include>**/integration/**</include>
</includes>
</configuration>
</execution>
</executions>
</plugin>
and the result became that Maven is failing the build as well as tearing
down my app server.
My opinion about the docs you point to Anders is that they are not as clear
as they could have been.
