This release allows for apache projects to optionally create zip and tar source bundles by setting the property: 'sourceReleaseAssemblyDescriptor' to 'source-release-zip-tar', for example: -DsourceReleaseAssemblyDescriptor=source-release-zip-tar http://maven.apache.org/apache-resource-bundles/apache-source-release-assembly-descriptor/ Existing apache maven projects just need to consume one of the new parents.
