It looks that after adding the directive
<plugin>
<groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
<artifactId>maven-deploy-plugin</artifactId>
<configuration>
<classifier>${envClassifier}</classifier>
</configuration>
</plugin>
Things work quite better. I can see the repository metadata now include the
artefact information:
