Don't know about maven plugin that will do this, but one way to do this something like follows which builds firefox xpi file which is basically gzip. Please make sure you adjust the phase according to your need.

<plugin>
<groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
<artifactId>maven-antrun-plugin</artifactId>
<executions>
<execution>
<phase>process-resources</phase>
<configuration>
<tasks>
<zip destfile="target/fiportscripter.xpi" basedir="target/classes" />
</tasks>
</configuration>
<goals>
<goal>run</goal>
</goals>
</execution>
</executions>
</plugin>

Hi,

Does anyone know of a way for me to change the extension used when using the assembly plugin? I have a large number of projects which need to packaged into their own zip file but with a particular extension rather than .zip
