I don't know how familiar you're with Ruby, but, 1. Get rvm. 2. Use the gemset. 3. Use bundler to manage your dependencies. 4. Use rake for builds. 5. Find the right Ruby community: http://www.ruby-lang.org/en/community/mailing-lists/
