MyEclipse already has Maven support based on m2eclipse, so that plug-in probably wouldn't install.
I'm not familiar with spring but I created a simple app with spring, in Netbeans then imported it, as a maven app, to MyEclipse and it worked first time - the spring context file definitely loaded or the output would have been different.
