I would not support the idea of building or implementing a custom system
when there are systems like LinkedIn that are free and already have over
2000 Maven users enrolled in the forum.

I think because Apache is a non-profit is cost should be minimal --
including cost of time by system administrators. If you want to search and
filter, you have Google and other search engines.
