This is kind of like saying: "we don't have the spare cycles for unit testing; we're spending all of our time fixing bugs."
Fact is, taking a few cycles off of frantic coding to do some decent documentation would allow more developers to contribute, which *could* give everyone more spare cycles. Good documentation would also help developers reason about the software.
