I would very much appreciate some type of announce list (and many products
with busy lists like Maven's have one!). The user list traffic has been
increasing for awhile, and I expect it to only continue increasing! While I
did not know the use of the Apache announce list, I really don't want the
other baggage coming with it (yes, it is low volume); I want Maven only
info. (and yes, I did just go subscribe to it... :-). I imagine over time
Maven having its own list would be more beneficial with the increasing
number of plugins.

Another user mailing list issue is the overloading of both m1 and m2 on the
same list. I would very much like two separate lists. I realize the
argument one can make of the value of both versions, but if I want info I
both versions, I could subscribe accordingly. Both m1 and m2 will be in use
for a long time yet!

I find that both of these issues make it more difficult to deal with the
Maven information I need. That is a lot of daily emails, and combined with
the many other product lists I am on (and I am sure others can relate!), the
situation isn't helped with these two "little" issues!

I also think the mailing list issues are just normal product growing pains,
and Maven usage is definitely growing (yea!)! :-)

Do we want to create/use [EMAIL PROTECTED] in addition? Perhaps to
put up plugin releases?

Or maybe [EMAIL PROTECTED] since it already exists with its 5 or so
subscribers and 1 post :)
