Allan, Thanks for your reply. I have just tried what you suggest and may have come across a boot strapping type issue. When I run the command
mvn install:install-file -Dfile=m:\maven-resources\2.0-alpha-3\maven-resources-plugin-2 .0-alpha-3.jar -DgroupId=org.apache.maven.plugins -DartifactId=maven-resources-plugin -Dversion=2.0- aplha-3 -Dpackaging=jar And got the message [INFO] The plugin 'org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-install-plugin' does not exist or no valid version could be found Fair play. So I download the maven-install-plugin and run the command mvn install:install-file -Dfile=m:\maven-resources\maven-install-plugin-2.0.jar -Dgroup Id=org.apache.maven.plugins -DartifactId=maven-install-plugin -Dversion=2.0 -Dpackaging=jar And get the message [INFO] The plugin 'org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-install-plugin' does not exist or no valid version could be found ?? Erm. Not sure what to do next. Is there a root cause to this 'cos presumably Maven should be downloading these plugins from central. Any more Ideas ?
