It appeared that the http://ibiblio.lsu.edu/main/pub/packages/maven2 mirror was down earlier today. This had the effect that when a user with no repository, or when running with -U, the maven-metadata-central.xml was essentially empty (just a reference to LATEST, I think...), and therefore couldn't be found.
In either case (new user or -U), when switching back to the central repo instead of the mirror, you have to run with -U again to get the new version of the file, and therefore get the plugins, etc. I guess I'm asking for two things: a better indication that the mirror was down (error message) & when a mirror is down, not replacing the maven-metadata-central.xml file so that -U is not needed when turning off the mirror in my settings.xml. -- Stephen Duncan Jr www.stephenduncanjr.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
